Times Square Ball-drop, New York, is one of the biggest New year Eve ceremonies in the Eastern coast of US. It is usually referred to as "New Year ball drop".
According to some online documentations, it was initialy organised, as a successor to a series of New Year's Eve fireworks at the time, by Adolph Ochs, the owner of New York Times. New York time is one of the most prominent newspapers in New York. The design, according the same record, was by Artkraft Strauss. The free Ceremony is usually attended by celebrities. And usually characterized by Music, Dances etc. And lastly, the drop of the ball around 11:59:00 p.m. ET.
