BRIEF DESCRIPTION

MARRIAGE CULTURE IN GENERAL
Marriage, also known as wedlock or matrimony is generally regarded as legal contract or social union between a set of people. Marriage, its meaning and definition depends on the society in question and their predominant culture. Some society practices monogamy, some practices polygamy, some marriages are traditional, some are modern. Apart from this, some societies are more liberal about intimacy before marriage than the other.

In some Religious/conservative societies, sexual activities before marriage are not tolerated at all. Some even see it as taboo. Some society holds fast to their custom or traditional wedding while some formalized theirs with white or western wedding. Some mandate both. In some societies, marriage is seen as a means of procreation alone while some think it should be for spiritual, social, legal, libidinal, religious, emotional or economic reasons.

Despite all these differences, some things are common sometimes in marriage; and they are: involvement of interpersonal relationships, emotion, commitment, intimacy etc. All in all, marriage is good for those it worked for and can be recognized by a state, religious authority, an organization, a tribal group, a local community amongst many others
