BRIEF DESCRIPTION

EGYPTIAN PYRAMIDS/AFRICAN TOURISM
Egyptian pyramids are amongst the wonders of the world. As of 2500 B.C till 1889, the Great Pyramid was believed to be the tallest structure in the world. And Red Pyramid, known to be the 'True' pyramid was constructed in 2600 B.C. Most of the constructions is said to be at Giza, and it would have taken up to 20,000 to 30,000 workers to do Job. The average material used according to some school of thought would have been over 100,000 giant stones, ranging from 1 to 20 tons in weight. The huge structures host the burial monuments of the pharaohs.

As of the year 2010, it said that about 138 of these monuments were discovered in Egypt and Djoser's Step Pyramid at Saqqara is known to be the first of all these monuments ever built. The great pyramid in Giza is also known as the Pyramid of Khufu and the Pyramid of Cheops. Despite the enormity, Land mark and importance of these pyramids to the historian, archeologist etc, it is believed that the biggest of all Pyramids is not situated in Egypt, but in Cholula, Puebla, Mexico.
