TUNISIA/SAHARA DESERT/NORTH AFRICAN TOURISM
Tunisia is officially known as Tunisian Republic or "Republic of Tunisia. It is one of the northernmost countries in the Maghreb region of North Africa. The population is about 10.8 million. And land mass is about 165,000 square kilometers or 64,000 sq miles. Though, most of the country's land is fertile, some parts are occupied by Atlas Mountains and the northern reaches of the Sahara desert.
And Sahara Desert is one of the largest and hottest deserts in the universe. It occupies about 10 percent of African Continent including: Libya, Mali, Mauritania, Algeria, Chad, Egypt, Morocco, Niger, Sudan and Tunisia, It stretches from 3,500,000 square miles southward to about 17° north of the Equator.
The temperature sometimes may surge to about 136 F [57.7 C]. Despite this harsh temperature it is still one of the most visited areas in the world. Some of the finest tourist attractions in Sahara include: Sahara Desert Oasis, Hot Springs, Sahara Museums etc. Camping in the desert or visiting the Sahara native tribes is undoubtedly a life time experience.
