BRIEF DESCRIPTION

MOROCCO/SAHARA DESERT
Geographically, Morocco is a rugged mountainous country with large portions of desert. Officially, it is known as Kingdom of Morocco. And it is one of the major countries in the Maghreb region of North Africa. It is a multicultural nation with many occupations. The population is over 33 million. And the land mass is about 446,550 km2 [172,410 sq mi].
Part of its landmass is absorbed by Sahara desert of North Africa.

Sahara desert, according to some sources, is one of the largest and hottest deserts in the universe. The temperature sometimes may surge up to about 136 F [57.7 C]. The land consists of mainly: one quarter sand, rocks and gravel-covered plains, one quarter volcanic mountains, and small areas of vast permanent vegetation. Notable amongst the vegetation are: grasses, shrubs, and some trees oases along the river beds. And “native” animals include; Deer, Weasels, Baboons, Gerbils, Cape Hare, Jackals, Sand Foxes, Mongooses, Desert Hedgehogs and various birds

Despite the harsh temperature Sahara desert is still one of the most visited areas in the world. Some of the finest tourist attractions in Sahara include: Sahara Desert Oasis, Hot Springs, Sahara Museums etc.
Apart from this, it hosts some social events like Annual Tunisia's desert festival which attracts leading camel racers from most of the northern part of African, including: Libya, Oman, Algeria, Saudi Arabia etc. It also congregates a lot of natives from remote Oases, some cave dwellers and nomads from various places.

Sahara, in general, occupies about 10 percent of African Continent including: Libya, Mali, Mauritania, Algeria, Chad, Egypt, Morocco, Niger, Sudan and Tunisia, It stretches from 3,500,000 square miles southward to about 17° north of the Equator. It is not just an expanse of sandy area; it has a many more surprises like occasional snowy winters, cisterns, deserts plants, desert natives amongst many others. In A special way, camping in the desert or visiting the Sahara native tribes, undoubtedly is a life time experience. The Morocco portions of Sahara include; vTata, Tleta Tagmout: Foum Erfoud, Zguid: Zagora: Tinfou, Rissani Ouarzazate Merzouga etc
