BRIEF DESCRIPTION
ADELAIDE FESTIVAL FESTIVAL OF ARTS/AUSTRALIAN CULTURE
The Adelaide Festival of Arts is one of the world's greatest Cultural celebrations. It is an internationally acclaimed artistry and pre-eminent cultural/historic landmarks in Australia. It is usually held annually in South Australian capital of Adelaide. But the nuclear of the festivities is usually in the Adelaide Festival Centre, River Torrens, parklands, cultural boulevard of North Terrace etc.
The inaugural one ran from 12–26 March 1960 and was directed by Professor Bishop with assistance from Ian Hunter, the Artistic Director of the Edinburgh Festival. It has about 105 shows covering almost all aspects of the arts like: theater, dance, opera, cabaret, new media, classical musics and contemporary music. The show was of tremendous success that it serves as a template for other arts festivals across Australian cities. Typically, example is Adelaide Fringe Festival which has now become one of the largest events in the world after the Edinburgh Fringe.
