BRIEF DESCRIPTION PERTH INTERNATIONAL ARTS FESTIVAL IN AUSTRALIA Perth International Arts Festival is the longest and oldest annual cultural festival in Western Australia or Southern hemisphere in general. It runs in between February and March. It was created by university of Western Australia in 1953 and the intention is to promote the culture and artistry of the region. It features: classical music, contemporary ones, dance types, visual arts, theater, opera, lottery west Festival Films, Perth Writers Festival etc. Apart from the main events, there are some other satellite festivals surrounding the main festival which offer more than 30 Australian premieres.The supports for the festival is majorly from institutions like: University of Western Australia, Lottery west amongst many others.
