AWILO LONGOMBA AS ONE OF THE CONTRIBUTORS TO AFRICAN SOUKOUS
Awilo Longomba is one of the best Congolese Soukous music artists in Africa. He currently lives in France. He was formerly a drummer in Viva la Musica, Stukas, Nouvelle Generation and Loketo. He left drumming for singing in the year 1995. His father is Victor Longomba and he is the founding father of T.P OK Jazz. His first album was “Moto Pamba” and his second CD, Coupe Bibamba was released in 1998. The second album was a huge success throughout Africa, Europe and America.
The second album was followed in 2001 by “Kafou Kafou” and “Mondongoin” 2004. The album “superman” was released in 2008. It won the Best Soukous Entertainment Award of 2009 by popular votes at the International Reggae and World Music Awards consisting of more than 120 countries.
